Getting started
Your first few minutes: signing in, finding your way around, and putting Wishpile on your phone.

Planning gifts
Lists, people, gifts, stages, budgets, and everything else for the gifts you are buying.
- Create a gift list for an occasionA list is one occasion, like Christmas or a birthday. Name it, pick a color, add a countdown date, and choose whether it's the list Wishpile opens to first.
- Add people to a listAdd everyone you're buying for on this occasion. Give each person a name, an optional budget, and an icon or their initial so they're easy to spot.
- Add a gift by pasting a linkPaste a product link and Wishpile fills in the name, price, store, and photo for you. Or type the details yourself - both take a few seconds.
- Move a gift from Idea to DoneEvery gift moves through four stages: Idea, Bought, Wrapped, and Done. Change a stage in two taps and see at a glance how far along everyone is.
- Add photos and receipts to a giftSnap the receipt so returns are easy, or add a photo so you remember exactly which one you picked. Flip through them, or delete the ones you don't need.
- See every gift on your listThe Gifts tab puts every gift on your list together in one place. Group it by person, sort it into one long list, or export it all to a spreadsheet.
- Set budgets and track what you've spentGive each person a budget and Wishpile keeps count as you buy gifts. See what's left per person and for the whole list, or hide the amounts on your screen.
- Number your gifts with tagsGive each wrapped gift a number, write it on the gift tag, and keep track of what's in every box. An optional feature you turn on in Profile.
- Reuse last year's listClone an old list to start the new gift season. Pick who comes along, keep their budgets, and bring over no gifts, only the ideas you never bought, or every gift.
- Edit or delete a list, person, or giftRename a list, change a person's budget, fix a gift's price, or remove any of them. Where each edit lives, and what each delete takes with it.
- Archive an old listPut last year's list away without deleting it. Archived lists leave your list switcher and reminders, open read-only, and stay one tap away to look back at or clone.
- Ask someone for their wishlistSend someone on your gift list a link. They make a wishlist, and their wishes show up on their page in your list, ready to claim without them knowing.
Your own wishlist
Make a list of what you would love, share it with one link, and keep the surprises.
- Make your own wishlistKeep a running list of things you'd love. Paste a link and Wishpile fills in the details, then mark your must-haves so people know what matters most.
- Share your wishlist by link or emailSend your wishlist's link any way you like, or let Wishpile email it with photos of your wishes. Anyone can see it and call dibs on a gift, no account needed.
- How Wishpile keeps your surprisesYou never see who's getting you what, or even whether a wish is taken. Here's what stays hidden from you, and what gift-givers can and can't see.
- Show a wishlist under a personPoint a wishlist at someone on your gift list, like a child you keep a list for, and their wishes show live on their page. Nothing is copied or imported.
- Rename, reorder, or delete a wishlistRename a wishlist, drag your wishlists into order, edit or remove single items, or delete a whole wishlist and its share link when you're done with it.
Wishlist groups
Gather everyone’s wishlists in one place for a holiday, birthday, or reunion.
- Start a wishlist groupGather everyone's wishlists for a holiday or birthday in one group. Name it, tie it to a gift list or a date, then add your family members to it.
- Add people to your groupAdd each family member to your group, and Wishpile can email them a personal link to make their own wishlist. No account needed on their end.
- Make your wishlist from a group inviteSomeone added you to their Wishpile group. Use your personal link to make a wishlist, browse the family's lists, and claim gifts. No account needed.
- Claim a gift from a group wishlistOpen a family member's wishlist, tap I'll get this, and the gift lands in your own plan as an Idea. The person whose list it is never finds out.
- See your group at a glanceSwitch into a wishlist group and Home becomes its dashboard: a countdown, who has started a wishlist, the newest wishes, and a nudge to add your own.
- Remove a member, leave, or delete a groupOrganizers can fix a member's name or email, remove members, change a group's name or date, or delete it. Members who want out can ask the organizer.

Secret Santa
Draw names, keep couples apart, and give everyone a wishlist to shop from.
- Set up a Secret SantaName your exchange, pick a date and budget, and list who's taking part. Wishpile emails everyone an invite and gets the name draw ready for you.
- Keep couples apart, or sit it out yourselfStop partners or roommates from drawing each other with exclusions, or leave yourself out of the draw while you run it. Set these up before you draw.
- Draw names and see who you're buying forWhen everyone's in, draw names with one tap. Each person sees only their own match. Reset to draw again, or add a second draw for another exchange.
- For participants: what you need to doGot a Secret Santa invite? Add your wishlist from the link, then sign up with the same email to see who you drew. Here's everything you need to do.
- Message your giftee or your Santa anonymouslyAsk the person you drew a question without giving yourself away, or write back to your own Santa. Only the two of you can read it, not even the organizer.
Planning with a partner
Share one plan and one budget with the person you give gifts alongside.
- Create a household with your partnerPlan gifts together with the person you give alongside. Create a household, invite them by email, and you'll share your lists, gifts, and a budget.
- Keep a household member's own gifts hiddenHousehold members see each other's gifts. Link your partner's entry on your list to them, and every gift you plan for them disappears from their view.
- Share a household budgetSet one spending target for you and your partner. Home then shows your progress against it, instead of adding up every person's budget on the list.
Account and notifications
Reminders, emails, your profile, and your data.
- Reminders and the bellThe bell at the top of the screen gathers nudges from your gift lists, like people with no gift yet or a date that's close, plus what's new in Wishpile.
- Emails Wishpile sends, and turning them offWishpile only emails for invites, group changes, a weekly nudge, Secret Santa news, and a few tips when you're new. Here's each email, and how to switch them off.
- Change your profile and display settingsUpdate your name and birthday, see the people you know on Wishpile, switch between light and dark mode, and turn on gift tag numbers. Everything lives on your Profile page in Wishpile.
- Delete your data or your accountDelete lists, people, gifts, wishlists, groups, or a household right in the app. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email Wishpile support.
- Share Wishpile with a friendSend a friend your personal Wishpile link. When they join and connect with you, you can add them to a group or Secret Santa in one tap.
