Not sure what to get someone? Ask them. Send a link from their page in your gift list. They make a wishlist on Wishpile, and every wish shows up on their page here, so you can pick one and claim it.
Steps
- Tap People in the bottom bar, then the person's name.
- Tap Ask with their name, for example Ask Mom. Wishpile gets a link ready.
- Tap Send the link and pick how to send it: a text, an email, or any app. On a computer, tap Copy and paste it into a message.
- When they answer, a card on your Home says they shared a wishlist with you. Tap See their wishes.
- On their page, under From wishlists, tap I'll get this on anything you'd like to give. It's added to their gifts in your list.
What they see
The link opens a page saying you'd love to know what they'd like. They sign up free, or sign in if they're already on Wishpile, and start a wishlist (or pick one they already have) to share with you. Then they add the things they'd love, and each one shows up for you straight away.
Good to know
- You only see the one wishlist they share with you, not any others they have.
- They never see what's been claimed. Anyone else shopping from the same wishlist sees it's taken, but not who took it, so nothing gets bought twice.
- Changed your mind? Tap Take back my claim on the wish. The gift idea stays in your list until you delete it.
- Each link is for one person. Once someone answers it, it can't be used again. Ask again from their page if you need a new one.
- Already see wishes on someone's page, from a group or a shared list? Then there's no need to ask, so the card doesn't show.
